City Winery Boston presents Voices in Power with Featured Headlining Poet Amanda Shea & Featured Opening Poet Tru Kwene live on November 11th at 7PM.
Voices In Power is coming to Boston! If you know, you know. If you don’t, this isn’t your typical “open mic night.” Since 2011, Voices In Power has been curating Poetry Open Mic Experience in Philly and is now one of the largest poetry communities in the world. We’ve made many cities our home, and now we’re excited to expand to Boston at City Winery. Join us to help build something special. Our events feature beautiful and creative people, great food, delicious drinks, dope music, fun games, and, of course, amazing poetry. The energy is always a vibe. If you’ve been with us before, you know it’s time to do it again.
The night begins with music, connections, conversations, food, drinks, and open mic sign-ups. At 8:30 PM, we’ll start prepping for the open mic. DJ G33k will keep the vibes high, and Jovan The Poet Bul will host. We’ll have local vendors, visual artists, an opening spotlight poet, and a featured poet to close out the night. Most of the evening is dedicated to poets who signed up.
Expect competitions, laughs, love, and dancing. This isn’t just an “open mic night.” The vibe is everything. Tickets will sell out, so grab yours today and meet us there. The cameras will be out, so get fly and let’s make memories together. Remember, this is family. Come connect with beautiful people, and let it change your life in a beautiful way.
Opening Featured Poet: Tru Kwene
Closing Featured Poet: Amanda Shea
Music: DJ G33k
Host: Jovan The Poet Bul
For POETS interested in performing: We use an ALL RAFFLE sign-up process. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and each poet can sign one ticket to put into the bucket. Raffle sign-ups are open until 8:00 PM. At 8:30 PM, tickets are selected at random throughout the night. Each poet gets 5 minutes to share one poem. Please adhere to the time limit to allow as many poets as possible to perform. We look forward to hearing your poetry.
For Sponsorship Opportunities, email us at [email protected].
Dress Code: Be yourself and be fly. For more information, visit voicesinpower.com/connect
Note: We are a poetry-only open mic experience. No other types of performances (music, comedy, etc.) are allowed. Our heart is for poetry, and we want to create a space for poets.
