Ryan Lee Crosby weaves a tapestry of sound with threads from Mississippi, India and Mali, through haunting falsetto vocals, hypnotic 12 string and mesmerizing lap style slide guitar. Interwoven with fiddle, calabash and harmonica, The Ryan Lee Crosby Band creates an original interpretation of traditional music that is sure to delight the senses and the spirit.

Drawing from experiences performing with mentors in the Delta, along with several years of study under maestros of Indian classical music, Crosby and his quartet pay their respects while expanding upon the influence of the Bentonia blues. Ilana Katz Katz’s inspired, intuitive fiddle brings warmth and presence, Grant Smith’s joyful, driving calabash adds a new dimension previously unheard in the tradition and Jay Scheffler’s thoughtful, nuanced harmonica provides a balanced counterpoint that is a as melodic as it is textural.

Crosby will also be joined for this event by special guest Peter Parcek, the renowned electric guitar master, for an ensemble that creates a new context, while expressing a deep reverence for the Bentonia style of Delta blues.
